SPECIAL COMMISSIONS

Ma démarche artistique est, depuis quelques années, une démarche très personnelle. Je suis un homme sensible et, comme tel, j’ai une multitude d’émotions que j’accueille chez moi. C’est de cet espace personnel que la plupart de mes œuvres naissent, donnant lieu à mes dessins, qui cherchent à exprimer justement de l’émotion à travers le corps, principalement, mais pas exclusivement, masculin. 

Ces dernières années, j’ai eu la chance d’échanger avec des amateurs d’art et des collectionneurs qui apprécient et se reconnaissent d’une certaine manière avec ma propre démarche. Plusieurs d’entre eux m’ont demandé des commandes particulières qui m’ont permis d’intégrer d’autres émotions à mon travail, le tout étant cohérent avec ma voix artistique.

 Dans cet article, je partage plusieurs de ces œuvres. Chacune est spéciale grâce à la collaboration avec ces collectionneurs.

‘’Les filles’’ est une œuvre inspirée de deux femmes que j’apprécie beaucoup personnellement et qui ont une forte complicité et plein d’amour. Elle parle de la distance et la proximité, de l’espace qui nous sépare et nous unit au même temps. Les corps, leurs subtils mouvements et l’espace entre eux sont les sujets principaux de cette scène estivale, rapprochée et personnelle.

Dans ‘’Long (flow) dress’’ la simplicité de la composition, le mouvement et la fluidité des tissus d’une robe compilent plein de significations, le tout dans une expression visuelle presque minimaliste et à caractère graphique.

‘’La Piscine’’ est une œuvre inspirée d’un diptyque réalisé auparavant (‘’(Frío) Caliente’’ et ‘’Frío (Caliente)’’), dont la couleur et le mouvement de l’eau évoquent ce qui est devant nous, une piscine, un espace partagé de manière personnelle par deux amants, mais aussi la nostalgie de la mer lointaine et des détails de la dynamique quotidienne de ces deux personnes.

 

‘’Complicidad (L’Amour)’’ naît de mon propre amour, presque obsessif, pour les mobiles de l’artiste Alexander Calder. Amour partagé avec deux collectionneurs que j’ai pu connaître grâce à des intérêts communs et aux réseaux sociaux. Dans cette œuvre la complicité et l’amour de deux hommes est la principale inspiration. La composition chromatique est cohérente avec l’œuvre de Calder mais elle est également pertinente et représentative de ces deux hommes qui m’ont fait confiance pour la création de l’œuvre.  

‘’Peace’’ explore la proximité, le support, l’amour et la paix retrouvée grâce à la présence de l’âme sœur et la relation intrinsèque entre deux personnes. Cet aspect coïncide avec une recherche en continuité de mes sujets habituels et, en même temps récente dans ma pratique, soit l’expression des émotions en relation avec les connexions interpersonnelles. Une œuvre de grand format, chargée d’émotion, d’amour et de paix.

Ces œuvres, diverses, m’ont permis d’aller à des places où je ne m’attendais pas et qui sont en même temps pertinentes, cohérentes et représentatives de ma pratique.

   My artistic approach has been, for several years, a very personal approach. I am a sensitive man and, as such, I have a multitude of emotions that I welcome in my body and soul. Most of my works are born from this personal space, giving rise to my drawings, which seek to express emotion through the body, mainly, but not exclusively, male. 

In these last years I have had the chance to interact with art lovers and collectors who, in a certain way, connect and recognize themselves with my own approach. Several of them asked me for specific commissions which allowed me to integrate other emotions into my work, all remaining consistent with my artistic voice. 

In this blog article I share some of these works. Each one is special thanks to the collaboration with these collectors.

“Les filles” is an artwork inspired by two women that I personally appreciate very much and who have a strong bond and lots of love. It speaks of distance and proximity, of the space that separates us and unites us at the same time. The bodies, their subtle movements and the space between them are the main subjects of this summer scene, up close and personal.

In ''Long (flow) dress'' the simplicity of the composition, the movement, and the fluidity of the fabrics of a dress compile lots of meanings, all in an almost minimalist and graphic visual expression.

 

''La Piscine'' is a work inspired by a diptych previously produced (''(Frío) Caliente'' and ''Frío (Caliente)''), whose color and movement of the water evoke what is in front of us, a swimming pool, a space shared in a personal way by two lovers, but also the nostalgia of the distant sea and the details of the daily dynamics of these two people.

“Complicidad (L’Amour)” os inspired by my own -almost obsessive- love for the mobiles of the artist Alexander Calder. Love shared with two collectors that I got to know through common interests and social networks. In this work the complicity and love of these two men are the main inspiration. The chromatic composition is consistent with Calder's work but it is also relevant and representative of the two men who trusted me with the creation of the work.

“Peace” explores the closeness, support, love, and peace found thanks to the presence of a soul mate and the intrinsic relationship between two people. This aspect coincides with a research in continuity with my usual subjects and, at the same time, recent in my practice, namely the expression of emotions in relation with interpersonal connections. A large-format work, full of emotion, love, and peace.

These diverse works allowed me to go to places where I did not expect, and which are at the same time relevant, coherent and representative of my practice.
